Road Tests

Road Tests

The road test for a DC Driver’s License examines your ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, proper use of turn signals, parallel parking, and several other driving skills. The test requires use of a car. CAS Driving School offers additional preparation and vehicle usage for taking the DC Road Skills Test.
Road Test Preparation:
CAS Driving can help you prepare to be ready for the DC Road Skills Test with a Road Test Prep appointment for $110. If you need a refresher course before taking your road test, we recommend you schedule an appointment for driving instruction. If you think you only need a little practice, you may be ready to schedule your Road Skills Test appointment with the DC DMV. When we meet you at the DMV  on the day of your road test, we will give you time to get comfortable driving the car.

If you have any questions about your readiness for the DC Road Skills Test, call us or schedule an appointment for a 2 hour pre-test preparation.

3rd-Party Road Test

TDC DMV-Certified Third-Party Road Test
CAS Driving School is a DC DMV-approved driving school. We have instructors who are certified by the DC DMV to conduct the Road Skills Test on behalf of the DC DMV.
About the Road Skills Test
The Road Skills Test for a DC Non-Commercial Driver’s License examines your ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, proper use of turn signals, parallel parking, and several other driving skills. CAS Driving School is certified by the DC DMV to administer the road test. The requirements are the same, including when you are eligible to take the road test, the number of times you may take the test, vehicle requirements, cancellation policies, fees, and skills tested. All road tests start and end at the DC DMV Deanwood Location, follow DMV-approved test routes and use the same scoring sheet. Once your third party road test is completed, you will be processed at the road test facility by DC DMV personnel. Third party tests may only be scheduled during the DC DMV Deanwood Location’s normal hours of operation.
A Note to Our Students
If you have received driving instruction from CAS Driving School, DC DMV does not permit you to take the third party road test with one of our instructors. In this case, we recommend you schedule your test with the DC DMV.

If you need a third party test, you can schedule it with us and we will take care of it for you.

If you need a car for your test, use our online scheduling tool to book a road test vehicle usage appointment.
